The Savvy Dog is owned by Carla Brown, CPDT-KA. After many years of working with dogs on a volunteer basis, Carla decided to pursue her passion for training by launching into an extensive course of study about how dogs learn and the science of behavior by enrolling in Pat Miller’s Peaceable Paws Basic Training and Intern Academy in 2005. Since then she has completed several hundred hours of continuing education with many of the most respected trainers in the field. Carla has been training privately for the last 5 years. She has a passion for teaching and loves to work with all members of a family to help each one develop their own special bond with the canine family members.

Carla is a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers and is a Certified Pet Dog Trainer by the Council for Certification of Pet Dog Trainers. She is an AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator and a long-time volunteer for the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe.
