The Savvy Dog is owned by Carla Brown, CPDT-KA. Carla has been training dogs professionally for 15 years. She is committed to upholding the high standards of her profession and continually pursues advanced education opportunities in this growing field. The science of dog behavior is exciting and ever-changing! She especially loves to work with challenging behavior cases and collaborates with local veterinarians. Carla has a passion for teaching and loves to work with all members of a family to help each one develop their own special bond with the canine family members.

Carla is a member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers and is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer by the Council for Certification of Professional Dog Trainers. She is an AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator and a long-time volunteer for the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe. She writes The Savvy Trainer column in the Sierra Sun.
